I help capable women understand

what their body is actually asking for.

I’m Michele Scherr, a Personalised Wellbeing Specialist who works with high-functioning women
over 40 whose bodies have stopped responding to effort the way they once did.

My approach is precision health. Rather than a generic plan, we work with an approach
matched to your own biology, so you can understand what is really going on and what to do next.

I know this territory from both sides: as a clinician, and as someone
who once pushed her own body and mind well past their limits.

Why I work the way I do

I left home the day after I finished high school with a bag of clothes and a great deal of determination. I married young, had two sons, and was divorced and a single mother by twenty-six, training as a nurse and trying to build something stable for the three of us. To support my studies while raising my boys, I joined the Royal Australian Air Force on an undergraduate sponsorship. The plan was simple: finish my degree, serve my time, return to civilian life.

I stayed longer than that. The years that followed were full of deployments, shift work, extra roles, and the particular kind of self-sacrifice that single mothers in demanding roles will recognise. Survival mode became normal. I was capable, reliable, and running on reserves I never stopped to check.

The signals came over years, not all at once. An autoimmune condition in 2006. The year after that, I was overseas for work and struck by a car as a pedestrian. In 2011, not long after I came home from Afghanistan, I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress and depression. I kept going through most of it, because that is what I knew how to do, until 2017, when I was medically discharged from the Air Force and it finally stopped me. By then I was managing chronic illness and grieving the career I had built my life around. My body and mind had been signalling for a long time. I had been too busy holding everything together to listen.

Not all of those years were hard. I met my husband in 2008. After I returned from Afghanistan in 2010, we began building a life together, marrying in 2017 and blending a family of four children and, these days, seven grandchildren. That steadiness gave me room to rebuild.

The piece that finally made sense of it came later, through Precision Health. By way of the Precision Health Alliance, I found a way of understanding the body that explained what years of stress and adaptation had done to mine, and what could be done about it. Not more discipline – a more precise approach, matched to how my body actually worked.

It’s also the question that led me back to study. My doctoral research takes that further into phenotype and chronobiology: a person’s individual biology, and the natural daily rhythms that shape how they function. I am exploring how that foundation might help women veterans living with post-traumatic stress and trauma-related conditions become more receptive to psychiatric and psychological care as they move from service back into civilian life. That’s not abstract for me: I made that same transition myself, and I know how long it can take to become ready to accept and be responsive to, help.

That’s the experience I bring to this work. I know what it is to operate in survival mode for years, and to have a body and mind that eventually says no. It’s why I do not tell capable women to try harder. I help them understand what their body is asking for, because I have needed that understanding myself.

Why personalised?

Most health advice is built for the average person.

The research behind it sets out to find the one approach that helps the greatest number of people. That finding,
true across a large group, is then passed on as though it were true for each person in it. An average describes a crowd, not the individual standing in it.

Your biology, your history, and the way you live are specific to you, and guidance drawn from what helps most people can miss what’s true for you.

That is what a personalised approach changes.

When your plan is matched to your own biology rather than a template built for the average,
your body can start responding again with less pushing and more working alongside your natural systems.

There is more on how that works, and on the different ways to begin, on the services page.

What I value and what I don’t do

A few things guide how I work.

I assume you are intelligent and have already tried hard, so I won’t hand you generic advice or tell you to push through.
I would rather you understood the reasons behind a choice than followed instructions on trust. I don’t use pressure, urgency, or shame,
because they have no place in good health work. And I respect that you know your own life better than anyone in the room.

There are also clear limits to what this work is, and I think it’s important to be plain about them.
Personalised Health and Wellbeing Solutions is a coaching and education service. I help you understand your body and build a personalised wellbeing plan.
I don’t diagnose, treat, cure, or prescribe, and I don’t replace your GP or specialist. I work alongside your existing healthcare, never instead of it.

In their words

I didn’t have to justify how busy or capable I was. I felt seen, respected, and genuinely understood: not judged, not rushed, and not given generic advice. Michele helped me realise nothing was “wrong” with me. Instead of being told to try harder, I finally understood why my body was responding the way it was, and that gave me real confidence in my choices, in my health and in my business. I don’t second-guess myself the way I used to.

Working with Michele helped me realise that nothing was “wrong” with me, as such. The way she explained what was happening in my body made everything click. What surprised me most was how validating this work felt. Instead of being told to try harder or do more, I finally understood why my body was responding the way it was. That understanding gave me real confidence in the choices I was making in all areas of my life.

M.C. (QLD)

Michele’s professionalism, expertise and genuine care for my welfare shone through in every meeting. She analysed all my test results, discussed them with relevant experts, and contacted medical professionals on my behalf when she felt further action was needed. I highly recommend Michele for anyone seeking to improve their health.
